EYELID
Ectropion correction repair
Eyelid ectropion can be corrected with surgery.
The objective of the surgery is to tighten the lower eyelid so that it can resume a normal anatomical position such that the eyelid is once again apposed to the eyeball surface.
The surgery can be performed under light sedation in the operating room. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the type of surgery required to address the type of ectropion.
In more severe cases of ectropion, a mid-face lift in combination with a full-thickness skin graft may be required. This would require general anaesthesia.
