EYELID
Double eyelid surgery
A large proportion of Asian eyelids do not have a clearly defined double eyelid crease.
Double eyelid surgery is a commonly performed aesthetic procedure which aims to create a well-defined double eyelid crease. Sometimes, it is performed to correct lash ptosis, a condition whereby the upper eyelashes are turned downwards towards the eyeball, causing rubbing of the lashes on the cornea.
The aim of the surgery is to create a natural-looking double eyelid crease.
The result of the surgery turns the eyelashes up away from the eyeball surface and also results in widening of the eyelid aperture resulting in a more obvious appearance of the eyes. The surgery can be done as a day procedure.
