EYELID
Excess skin on eyelid
Excess skin around the eyelid region can result in a droopy and tired appearance of the eyes. This can develop as a person gets older and it is called dermatochalasis.
This excess skin can sometimes cause more difficulty applying eye makeup. It may be accompanied by some excess fat outpouching (eyebags).
In severe cases, the excess skin can form a draping like a curtain over the upper outer corner of the eyes, which may result in obstruction of peripheral vision.
Blepharoplasty surgery can be performed for the removal of excess skin and eyebags around the eyelids. The result is that of a rejuvenated appearance of the eyes.
